Anderson Homes Building in Briar Chapel?
According to a recent press release by Anderson Homes, their new Architecture Manager (Rick Maddox) will be responsible for creating six new plans for the single-family homes at Briar Chapel. Please note, however, that Newland Communities has not yet released the names of approved builders.
If you want to live in Briar Chapel, please let me know so that I can make sure you know when homes and/or lots become available.

Presales Event in January 2008?
I just heard back from a source at Newland Communities regarding the status of development in Briar Chapel. They said that things are moving along as currently scheduled, even though they had some setbacks to the original timeline. They went on to say that Newland hopes to have models up by late-December or early-January in preparation for a presales event in early-2008.
In the mean time, they are currently receiving signed contracts back from their builders, and are planning a grand opening event sometime in March or April 2008. Stay tuned for more details...

Supplement To Testimony on Briar Chapel Application for Water Quality Certification
On December 13, 2005, the North Carolina Division of Water Quality (DWQ) conducted a hearing on Briar Chapel's application for certification for its construction. One day before the hearing, the Fearrington Homeowners Association received a copy of a letter from Kilpatrick-Stockton, representing the developer of Briar Chapel. The Board did not have time to review the position of the developer as contained in this letter prior to the hearing. Subsequently, on January 11, 2006, Mr. Sommers faxed the Board's response to the developer's position as well as additional comments on the DWQ's approval process and water quality and sewage treatment in Chatham County to the North Carolina Division of Water Quality. This supplement to his previous testimony is provided here.
